Framing the Day

When it comes right down to it, the entire job of professional wedding photographers is capturing, preserving, and framing memories. Of course, as photographers we are constantly working to find the best possible framing (in the photographic sense) for the pictures we take, but there’s also the matter of the literal photo frames that are an entirely separate matter from aspect ratios, symmetry, and what not.

On a day to day basis, the inside of a frame is how our customers will most often see their wedding pictures and remember the big day. Maybe they will mostly see their pictures on a chest of drawers or on a small table in the living room or even on the refrigerator. Even in this digital age that hasn’t changed much, and no matter how many new apps the people at Apple and others come up with, it’s not likely to change any time or soon, or maybe ever.

Of course, the actual choice of photo frames is a matter of the personal taste of our customers. There are a host of fine options available. Many newlyweds and their families spend a great deal of time making a decision about which frames they want as the medium for viewing their favorite wedding pictures, and we understand why.

Sometimes such traditional choices as wooden and colored plastic or metal frames are absolutely the best way to go. In our experience, traditional ways of doing things are often that way for a reason; it’s hard to argue with the practicality and attractiveness of the classical form of picture frame.

However, we would also like to encourage our customers to consider more creative and unusual presentations for their imagery. Sometimes a bit of personal flair can be best conveyed by configurations that are genuinely outside the box and, we suppose, outside the usual photo frames. There really are an endless number of options and we’d like to encourage everyone to take a look at everything that’s out there.
